This is SO COOL. My sister sent it to me. 2008 voting patterns in the South match patterns of cotton production in the antebellum South, which match an area of rich, loamy soils that were ideal for cotton crops, which match the coastline during the Late Cretaceous, about 85 million years ago (which made the soil so rich).
